Introduction

Influence, Identity, and the Power of Asia in the Age of AI explores the "New Orient" by analyzing the intersection of rapid AI adoption with traditional cultural and political landscapes in Asia. The volume aims to challenge Eurocentric perspectives by investigating how China, Japan, and Southeast Asian nations (and other Asian countires) navigate this transformation, offering a valuable resource for scholars in international relations and Asian Studies. Researchers are invited to submit proposals related to cultural, economic, or political topics integrated with AI.

Objective

Objectives are e.g.: 1.) Synthesizing Tradition and AI: to examine how Asian nations balance deep-rooted cultural legacies with the rapid integration of artificial intelligence in governance, economy, and social life, 2.) Challenging Eurocentrism: to move beyond Western-centric frameworks, offering a nuanced understanding of Asian regional integration and sovereign identity in a digitalized global order. 3.) Decoding Soft Power: To analyze how the "Digital Silk Road," gastrodiplomacy, and pop culture serve as modern instruments of influence when powered by AI and data-driven strategies, and 4.) Bridging Research Gaps: To provide a multidisciplinary toolkit for scholars and policymakers that connects cultural heartbeats - such as faith, aesthetics, and family values-to hard-tech advancements.

The target audience for this publication includes academics, researchers, and students specializing in International Relations, Asian Studies, Political Science, and Digital Humanities. By bridging the gap between culture and technology, it provides critical insights for scholars exploring how AI reshapes regional identities.Additionally, the book serves as a vital resource for policy analysts, diplomats, and strategic advisors focusing on Indo-Pacific geopolitics. Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 21, 2026, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by July 5, 2026 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by August 23, 2026, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
