Introduction

The metaverse is a fast-developing virtual space that combines augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and social networking. This technology is revolutionizing the practice of oral health promotion in community and geriatric dentistry. The metaverse offers new avenues for oral health education, remote consultations, and behavioral therapies through immersive, interactive technologies. Digital platforms provide engaging experiences for a wide range of individuals and help overcome traditional hurdles, such as mobility limitations, geographic isolation, and limited access to dental care, especially for community and geriatric dentistry. This makes the metaverse an exciting opportunity to advance preventive methods, empower patients, and improve oral health outcomes in these communities.”

Objective

The purpose of this book is to explain how metaverse technologies might be used to promote oral health in community and geriatric dentistry. It investigates the integration of immersive digital worlds together with virtual reality and interactive tools to offer unique approaches for education, prevention, and patient engagement. The book will extend the current knowledge by providing an in-depth analysis of the metaverse-led methodologies, emphasizing the potential to overcome the conventional barriers to dental care service delivery, particularly in relation to the elderly and underserved populations, and proposing new paradigms for digital transformation in the oral health initiatives.

Target Audience

The target audience for Metaverse Dynamics in oral health promotion in community and geriatric dentistry comprises older persons, caregivers, community health workers, and dental professionals working with aging populations. This demographic often has particular obstacles, such as limited mobility, less access to dental treatment, and a higher frequency of chronic oral disease. Metaverse Dynamics seeks to reach these people through immersive, interactive digital platforms to improve their literacy in oral health and help them develop personalized preventive strategies. The aim is to bridge gaps in care and promote better oral health outcomes in both community and elderly settings.
