Introduction

Artificial intelligence and data analytics are rapidly transforming defense and security systems worldwide. Modern defense organizations increasingly rely on advanced computational methods to support strategic decision-making, intelligence analysis, cybersecurity operations, and resource management. This book explores the role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics in improving defense management and security practices. It examines how data-driven approaches can enhance operational effectiveness, risk assessment, threat detection, and strategic planning in defense institutions. Bringing together contributions from researchers and practitioners across multiple disciplines, the book will present theoretical frameworks, technological innovations, and practical applications of intelligent systems in defense environments. The volume aims to provide a comprehensive reference for scholars, policymakers, and professionals interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and defense management.

Objective

The objective of this book is to explore how artificial intelligence and data analytics can support strategic and operational decision-making in defense and security contexts. Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before July 5, 2026, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by July 19, 2026 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by September 27, 2026, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
