Introduction

Artificial Intelligence (AI), biotechnology, digital health systems, and data-driven innovation are converging at a fast pace, reshaping the future of healthcare and human health and wellbeing. The world has seen a shift in the philosophy of healthcare from reactive to predictive, preventive, personalized, and participatory, promoting the fuller flourishing of the human person. In this context, the proposed book, AI-Driven Bio-Innovation for Human Flourishing: Reimagining Health, Wellness and Precision Living, examines how AI-powered bio-innovations are transforming how people live their lives, including their health, wellness, longevity, emotional resilience, and quality of life. From AI-powered diagnostics to wearable biosensors, digital therapeutics, genomics, neurotechnology, robotic healthcare systems, precision medicine, emotion AI, to predictive wellness analytics, AI is unlocking new possibilities in the healthcare industry, reshaping patient care and proving to be a game-changer for wellbeing. AI’s advancement in diagnostics, wearable biosensors, digital therapeutics, genomics, neurotechnology, robotic healthcare systems, precision medicine, emotion AI, predictive wellness analytics, and beyond is sparking new avenues in the healthcare industry, transforming patient care and marking a turning point in the pursuit of human-centred wellbeing. These advancements are not just improving disease prediction and treatment outcomes, but also shaping the landscape of lifestyle management, mental health support, and nutritional intelligence, preventive care, rehabilitation and personalized wellness ecosystems. AI's role in bio-innovation has given rise to intelligent systems that can constantly monitor physiological and psychological states, allowing for interventions at real-time and personalized levels to optimize health. Beyond this, the term “human flourishing” has been a focus of interdisciplinary research, not just with a focus on the absence of illness, but on physical energy, emotional health, cognitive improvement, social integration and sustainable living. AI-driven bio-innovation can offer a transformative approach to realizing these other aspects of human wellness. AI-powered genomics, digital twins, brain-computer interfaces, smart healthcare platforms, telemedicine and intelligent wellness apps are allowing people to make proactive health choices and giving healthcare providers data-driven insights. The intent of this book is to explore the impact of AI on the transformative process of bio-innovation in the fields of healthcare, wellbeing, psychology and neuroscience, nutrition, biotechnology and precision living. It will also touch on new ethical, social, psychological and governance issues that arise in AI-powered health systems, such as algorithmic bias, privacy considerations, digital inequity, emotional reliance on intelligent systems, and the ethical implications of bio-enhancement technologies. This book aims to showcase the multifaceted nature of the fields of healthcare, research, psychology, technologies, policy, and industry in a way that will help them understand the possibilities of collaborative efforts to achieve healthier, more sustainable, and prosperous societies through the synergies of AI and bio-innovation. The book will be a valuable academic and professional resource for the future trajectory of intelligent healthcare, bio-digital wellbeing ecosystems in the era of Industry 6.0 and beyond.

Objective

This book aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of the transformative convergence between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and bio-innovation, highlighting how intelligent technologies are reshaping healthcare, wellness, neuroscience, biotechnology, and precision medicine. It examines the growing role of AI in revolutionizing healthcare delivery through predictive diagnostics, personalized treatment pathways, robotic surgery, digital therapeutics, telehealth, and intelligent patient-care systems. The volume further investigates how AI-driven innovations support human flourishing by enhancing mental health, emotional resilience, cognitive performance, physical well-being, longevity, and overall quality of life. Particular emphasis is placed on precision living, where AI-powered wearables, biosensors, genomics, nutrition analytics, and wellness applications enable individualized health management and lifestyle optimization. Additionally, the book explores emerging technologies such as digital twins, neurotechnology, emotion AI, brain-computer interfaces, regenerative medicine, metaverse healthcare, bioinformatics, and AI-assisted genomics, demonstrating their potential to redefine the future of healthcare and human development. Beyond technological advancements, the book critically addresses the ethical, social, and governance challenges associated with AI-driven bio-innovation, including privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, cybersecurity risks, digital health inequities, trust in intelligent systems, and responsible innovation practices. It also emphasizes the importance of developing sustainable and inclusive healthcare ecosystems that leverage AI to improve accessibility, reduce disparities, and promote equitable well-being across diverse populations. Ultimately, the book seeks to envision a future of intelligent, human-centered living in which AI-enabled bio-digital ecosystems empower individuals and communities to lead healthier, more meaningful, and flourishing lives. By integrating technological innovation with ethical responsibility and societal well-being, the book provides a forward-looking framework for understanding the future of healthcare, wellness, and sustainable human development in the age of artificial intelligence.
