Introduction

Applied artificial intelligence (AI) has become central to modern life in the Arab world, with rapidly expanding applications across education, healthcare, finance, business innovation, and data-driven decision-making. High-quality applied AI research and real-world systems are emerging across the region at an accelerating pace, yet remain underrepresented in mainstream international AI literature. This book addresses this gap by providing a peer-reviewed, structured scholarly outlet that consolidates recent advances in applied AI. It will present technical innovations, applied systems, strategic frameworks, and case studies from across the Arab world. Contributions will align with key domains including AI technologies, health and wellbeing, education transformation, and finance and business innovation, while also addressing ethical, transparent, and responsible AI practices.

Objective

The objective of this book is to provide a durable scholarly reference that captures both the breadth and depth of applied AI developments in the Arab world. Specifically, the volume aims to: • Showcase emerging applied AI research and deployed systems from the Arab world and the wider Middle East • Consolidate interdisciplinary advances across technical and sector-specific domains • Strengthen international and regional research collaboration • Promote responsible, ethical, and sustainable AI practices • Support early-career and established researchers through rigorous peer review and scholarly dissemination • Help define future research agendas and sustain ongoing scholarly dialogue in the Arab world

The intended audience includes: • AI researchers and graduate students seeking applied, real-world AI research grounded in regional and societal needs • Industry practitioners and system developers working on AI solutions in healthcare, education, finance, and business • Policymakers and institutional leaders involved in AI-driven digital transformation and governance • International scholars and organisations interested in comparative AI development and emerging innovation ecosystems

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before March 22, 2026, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by April 5, 2026 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by May 24, 2026, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
