Introduction

Transnational Education (TNE) has emerged as a central pillar of higher education internationalisation, enabling universities to expand their global footprint through collaborative partnerships, franchised programmes, joint degrees, and digital delivery models. As global demand for accessible, high-quality education increases, institutions face growing challenges related to governance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and cultural adaptation. This book provides a comprehensive and strategic exploration of how higher education institutions design, implement, and sustain transnational partnerships in an increasingly complex and competitive global environment. It integrates policy analysis, institutional strategies, and real-world case studies to examine the evolving landscape of TNE. Particular attention is given to emerging trends such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence in quality assurance, and new models of global learning delivery. By bridging theory and practice, this publication aims to offer a structured and practical framework for navigating the opportunities and risks associated with cross-border higher education.
