Duygu Çelik Ertuğrul is a full professor and serves as a faculty member in the Computer Engineering Department at Eastern Mediterranean University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. She completed her undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies in Computer Engineering at the same university between 1999 and 2010. Her academic expertise comprises Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Semantic Web, Ontologies, Software Engineering Methods and Processes, Decision Support Systems, Recommendation Systems, Rule-Based Expert Systems, Text Processing, Data Mining, Image Processing, m/e-Health, and m/e-Education. Dr. Çelik Ertuğrul has played significant roles in organizing annual international workshops and symposiums such as the "IEEE International Workshop on E-Health Systems and Web Technologies" (ESAS 2011-2024) and the "IEEE COMPSAC Symposium on Web Technologies and Data Analytics (WEDA)". Additionally, she has held positions as a director, academic advisor, and researcher in various R&D projects in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. These projects were supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and funded by the Turkish government within the scope of University-Industry Collaboration (SANTEZ) projects. The projects were completed in collaboration with leading industrial organizations and universities in Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Dr. Çelik has managed the editing of three books published by IGI Global; titled as "The Future of Digital Technology and AI in Social Sectors”, "Cutting-Edge Technologies for Business Sectors”, and "Multifaceted Uses of Cutting-Edge Technologies and Social Concerns". She has conducted numerous research studies focused on Semantic Web rule-based system solutions in areas such as decision support systems, recommendation systems, and expert systems across various sectors. Moreover, she has provided editorial services by organizing various special issue calls in reputable journals, such as “AI Paradigms: Transformations, Challenges, and Future for e-Health Post COVID-19-2022,” “e-Health and Staying Smarter-2020,” and "E-Health Systems and Semantic Web-2015," published by the Expert Systems journal. She holds three patents related to AI solutions in the health sector. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Çelik has graduated dozens of MS/PhD students and aims to inspire engineering students.

Atilla Elci is full professor in the Software Engineering Department, Hasan Kalyoncu University, Turkey. He retired as full professor and chairman, Aksaray University (2012-2017). Served at Purdue, METU, Haliç, Başkent, EMU, Toros, SDÜ, and Aksaray. His pro practice includes ITU as chief technical advisor (1985-97) and IT&T Pvt Ltd as owner, Turkey (1997-2003). He has organized/served for committees of numerous international conferences. He has organized IEEE COMPSAC & ESAS since 2006, SIN Confs since 2007; and, IJRCS Symposiums 2008-9. He has published extensively; edited Semantic Agent Systems (Springer, 2011), Theory and Practice of Cryptography Solutions for Secure Information Systems (2013), Handbook of Applied Learning Theory and Design in Modern Education (2016), Metacognition and Successful Learning Strategies in Higher Education (2017), Comptemporary Perspectives on Web-Based Systems (May 2018), and Faculty Development for Digital Teaching and Learning (May 2019) all by IGI Global, and the procs SIN Confs by ACM, ESAS by IEEE CS. He serves IEEE COMPSAC since 2005, track chair (2008-2015), Standing Committee Member since 2014. He is an assoc editor of Expert Systems and board member of other journals. BSEE METU, Ankara (1970), M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Computer Sciences, Purdue Univ, USA (1973, 1975). His research and experience encompass web semantics, agent-based systems, robotics, machine learning, knowledge representation and ontology, information security, and educational technology.
