Description:

In recent years, the world of civil engineering has been changing considerably. Within the many obstacles, barriers, and opportunities, significant challenges should be considered for the future of civil engineering. With the contribution of geoinformatics, several scientific areas associated with civil engineering experienced rapid technological evolution. Considering these challenges, the future of civil engineering can be portrayed.

Geoinformatics in Support of Urban Politics and the Development of Civil Engineering portrays the evolution of the world of civil engineering, what happened in recent decades, what will develop in the future, and what the path will be. This work characterizes the different academic areas of civil engineering, demonstrating its evolution. Covering topics such as landslide susceptibility mapping, spatial data, and local development, this premier reference source is an essential resource for policymakers, environmentalists, scientists, technicians, decision makers, engineers, students and educators of higher education, librarians, researchers, and academicians.

Coverage:

The many academic areas covered in this publication include, but are not limited to:

  • Aerial Mapping
  • Analytical Hierarchy Process
  • Augmented Reality
  • Extended Reality in Construction
  • Landslide Susceptibility Mapping
  • Local Development
  • Photographic Image Properties
  • Spatial Data
  • Third Landscape
  • Urban Planning

Reviews

"India is at present one of the top 3 countries in the world, with the most number of dams. However, India is still building a number of dams. Similarly, other countries with thousands of dams are still going for more dams. Through my chapter in the book, I had highlighted whether dams are still required in India and in the rest of the world or not. Some dam projects in India which were in the news in recent years were briefly explained, and the problems faced in those dam projects were discussed in the chapter. A number of graphical analyses were done to support the study. How dams can still change the future and, as a non-renewable source of energy, could lead to sustainable development. The research book covered the evolution of the civil engineering world as well as the happenings in the past few decades, future development, and the possible future path which could be taken. This research book consists of many topics, including Urban Planning, Flood Risk Modelling, Water Policies, Urban Floods, Landslide Susceptibility Mapping, Dams, Aerial Mapping, Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Rods, and many more. This research book acts as a premier reference source, which is an essential resource for policymakers, environmentalists, scientists, technicians, decision makers, engineers, students and educators of higher education, librarians, researchers, and academicians."
