Mahmut Turhan is an expert in electrical and energy systems, currently serving as the Chairman of the Aviation Electrical Electronics Department at Istanbul Nişantaşı University and the Director of the R&D Department at Medel Mühendislik ve Elektronik A.Ş. Born on August 7, 1977, Dr. Turhan's academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering from Gaziantep University, followed by a Master's degree in Energy Systems Engineering from Gebze Institute of Technology, and a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Kocaeli University. A retired Captain from the Turkish Navy, he has held various significant positions, including Electrical Factory Manager and Submarine Repair Manager at Gölcük Shipyard Command, and Electrical-Electronics Factory Group Manager at İzmir Shipyard Command. Dr. Turhan has an extensive background in research and development, particularly in naval and defense projects, and has authored numerous publications in prestigious international journals. His specialties include energy transmission lines, biomedical devices, and solar energy systems. He is also an avid sailor and enjoys olive cultivation in his leisure time.
