Description:

The growing climate emergency threatens ecosystems and economies while challenging human mental health, especially for those displaced by climate-related disasters. As climate disasters force communities to relocate, individuals often face trauma, grief, anxiety, identity loss tied to their homes and cultures. These psychological impacts are often overlooked in disaster response frameworks, leaving displaced populations vulnerable to long-term mental health consequences. Effective mental health interventions must be integrated into climate resilience strategies, with culturally sensitive, community-based approaches that provide immediate psychological aid and long-term support. Addressing the mental health needs of climate-displaced populations is essential for fostering social recovery when faced with environmental disaster.

Mental Health Interventions for Climate Emergency Displacement explores the psychological impacts of climate change and informs policy development for mental health interventions. It examines the impacts of climate change on psychology and effective community resilience efforts during emergency displacement. This book covers topics such as culture and population, psychosociology, and women’s health, and is a useful resource for business owners, medical practitioners, policymakers, psychologists, academicians, researchers, and scientists.
