Khosrow-Pour, an author and editor who taught information system courses at Penn State U., compiles 24 case studies describing methods used to assess an education course, how to implement assessments, what factors to assess, and which factors determine the success of the result, as well as how to measure and convey results. Topics discussed include the alignment of course objectives and assessments, the use of program and institutional data, data for issues of retention and graduation rates, and collaboration in student assessment research. Also examined are pre-service teachers' diversity awareness, the relationship between freshman composition courses and student performance in intensive writing courses, and online learning environments. Mehdi Khosrow-Pour, DBA, MS, MBA, received his Doctorate in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University (Florida, USA), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Miami. Dr. Khosrow-Pour taught undergraduate and graduate information system courses at the Pennsylvania State University - Harrisburg for nearly 20 years. He currently serves as Executive Editor at IGI Global Scientific Publishing (www.igi-global.com) and as Executive Director of the World Forgotten Children Foundation (www.worldforgottenchildren.org). He is the author/editor of more than 150 books and journal articles in the field of information technology management.
